This Clapham project involved a complete transformation of the lower ground floor and the wider internal layout of the property. The existing rear extension was demolished and replaced with a new basement and rear extension, creating more usable living space while making better use of the connection between the house and garden.
The aim was to make better use of the existing property and create a more open, practical home. The ground floor was dated and limited the potential of the space, so the project involved rethinking both the new extension, new basement and the internal layout in a full refurbishment.
The project included the demolition of the existing lower ground floor rear extension and construction of a new basement, together with a new rear extension.
We also carried out extensive internal alterations throughout the property. Walls and spaces were reconfigured to improve the flow between rooms and create a more open-plan layout.
The new rear extension features large areas of glazing, bringing more natural light into the property and creating a stronger connection with the garden.
The basement has added valuable additional floor space, allowing the property to accommodate more living space without relying solely on the existing footprint.
The finished home feels considerably more open and connected, with the new extension and basement making much better use of the available space.
The combination of the new rear extension, additional basement accommodation and internal alterations has created a home that feels brighter, more spacious and better suited to the way the owners want to live.
