It’s been another busy month for the team at Lucas Pulak Construction, with plenty happening across our projects.
We’ve had projects reaching some exciting stages, while at the same time getting stuck into a brand-new transformation in Bromley. Every site is different, and that’s one of the things we enjoy most about what we do.
Wimbledon: Nearly time to take the scaffolding down
Our Wimbledon project is really starting to come together.
The scaffolding has been taken down, finally we can step back and properly see the building rather than looking at it through layers of scaffolding and under dark covers.
One of our favourite parts of this project has been the bespoke Corten dormers on the attic conversion. They bring something unique to the property and, more importantly, allows lots of natural light into the new bedrooms while making the most of the views over the city.
The Corten detailing will continue across the extension and into the garden room, so there will be a nice connection between the different parts of the house.
We can’t wait to see it all properly revealed.
Dulwich: Another project getting close to the reveal
Over in Dulwich, things are moving along nicely too.
We’re getting close to removing the scaffolding here as well, and once that’s gone, the transformation will really start to speak for itself. There are 10 solar panels covering the roof of this large 6 bedroom renovation. The clients have chosen to go gas free and more environmentally friendly.
There are some fantastic details going into this house, including a fish-scale roof tile feature chosen by our client, which adds a really distinctive touch.
Behind the scenes, we’ve also been putting a lot of thought into the performance of the house. We’ve upgraded the insulation throughout the property, helping to make it warmer, more comfortable and more energy efficient.
It’s those things you don’t necessarily notice straight away, but they make a huge difference to how a house feels once you’re living in it.
Once these base projects are complete, we will be moving onto plastering and completing the bathrooms around the house.
Bromley: A new project begins
While Wimbledon and Dulwich are moving towards the finishing stages, we’ve also just started something completely new in Bromley.
The property is in a pretty sorry state, but it has huge potential.
We’ve started with the big clean-up and site preparation, and over the next 14 months we’ll be turning it into a completely new, ultra-modern five-bedroom home.
The plans include a swimming pool, garden retreat and extensive landscaping, so there’s a lot to look forward to.
We’re working with Matthew Giles Architects on the project, and we’ll be sharing more of the designs and the transformation as we go.
Looking at what’s behind the walls
Something we’ve been focusing on across our projects is making sure the houses don’t just look great — they perform well too.
Three of our current properties are going completely gas-free, with VRF/MVHR systems providing heating, cooling and ventilation throughout the properties.
The clever part is that most of this technology will barely be visible once the house is finished. No radiators across the properties allowing more wall space to be freed up for interior design choices. The systems are being integrated into the design, leaving the interiors clean and uncluttered.
For us, that’s what a good luxury build is about great design, great craftsmanship and all the things that make a home comfortable working quietly in the background.
